After playing and performing together for a few years, in summer 2006 we were ready to record. The recording was done at Blueshift Productions and we became fast friends with Jef Gibbons who has a great ear and whom we loved working with. We recorded our songs live in studio with one or two takes per song as we tried to capture the musical responsiveness and dynamics that are present when we play together.'Ain't No Ordinary Hillbilly' was recorded when the band was made up of Joel Klingler ( a lifetime but distant JDM member ), Johan Worst, and Darryl Klassen.
